Simple Feng Shui Means of Correction of Bad Energies in House

Consider the main tools that are used in Feng Shui to correct adverse situations. These are lighting, candles, mirrors, crystals, pendants, bells, moving objects, plants, water, electrical appliances, sound, etc. Using them, do not forget about the basic principles. Any meaningful change will certainly improve your life, but if you have already achieved some success, think before taking decisive action.

Do not abuse mirrors, plants, decorations, because you must achieve balance, proportionality, the best location of the object in the space surrounding you. When choosing items, consider the style of your home, your personal tastes, as well as the tastes of your household. Do not use Chinese or Oriental symbolism if you do not have a special inclination for it.
Each tool described below has its own characteristics. Knowing them, understanding the general idea, you can use them in a variety of circumstances.

1. Feng Shui – Using Lighting for correcting Bad Energies

Light powerfully stimulates qi energy both outside and inside the house. Since light is closely connected with the element of Fire, its effect is most pronounced in the southern part of the house or in individual rooms. It also complements the qualities of the Earth in the southwest and northeast.
The best source of light is natural light. If you think that your house is not lit enough, you can change the curtains to lighter or hang a mirror to the side of the window.
If the lighting is too bright, which means the predominance of Yang energy, it is better to hang tight curtains, because not everywhere bright lighting is favorable. The lounges, in particular the bedroom, should not be lit as brightly as the rooms in which you do some work or receive guests.
Light can be either strong or weak, but it should not irritate vision. Fluorescent lighting in Feng Shui is considered to be unhealthy.

You should not place powerful lamps directly above your head, especially if you spend most of your time near them. Such lamps will not be appropriate at the desktop, in the living room or dining room.

With the help of floor lamps and sconces, you can make the room brighter and at the same time create the effect of soft, diffused lighting. Very good lamps that have switches with infinitely adjustable brightness, especially in rooms that are used for different purposes. For example, enhancing the lighting in the living room during the day, you will make it noisy and lively, and by dimming the lighting in the evening, create a calm, peaceful atmosphere that promotes relaxation.

2. Feng Shui – Using Candles for correcting Bad Energies

Candles serve as a source of light only when you light them, so you should not keep a candle in the room just as a decoration. Light it from time to time, and a fire will fill your home with a favorable qi. Of course, it should be remembered that candles are flammable, and use candle holders, and also do not leave a burning candle unattended.

Feng Shui candles are recommended in the northeast to enhance the influence of the earth. If you light a candle in an alcove or in the corner of a room, this will help to disperse the chi energy that has stagnated there.

Do not light candles in the southern zone of the room, as the element of fire activated in this part will begin to dominate the environment, and this is not always favorable.

3. Feng Shui – Using Mirrors for correcting Bad Energies

Because mirrors attract and transmit chi energy, they are used in different ways in Feng Shui.
If, due to the particular layout, there is no zone of the ba gua octagon in the room, you can use the mirror to create a “presence effect” and thereby restore lost balance.
A mirror can reflect the harmful effects of sharp corners; direct the flow of energy through a narrow or cluttered passage; visually mask individual places, for example, a toilet located next to the front door.

Mirrors double the objects that they reflect, so put something useful or pleasant in front of the mirror. For example, using a mirror, you can double the amount of food on the table in the dining room (maybe that’s why in prestigious restaurants you can often find mirrors?) But this method is unlikely to be appropriate in the kitchen, where food is just being prepared and does not always look so appetizing.

In the bedroom, the mirrors should by no means reflect the spouses’ bed, since this creates a “double image” of marriage, which is very unfavorable from the point of view of Feng Shui.
Do not hang mirrors in front of the toilet or entrance door. By doing this, you will contribute to the fact that the qi energy does not get into your home, as it will immediately be reflected back.
In the hallway you need to hang large mirrors so that they reflect the full image of a person. Arrange the furniture around the mirror so that reflection is not shy. Ideally, the mirror in the hallway should show all members of the family without “cutting off” the legs in children and the heads in adults.

Mirrors should be kept clean by regularly wiping them with a damp cloth. And of course, replace or throw away the cracked mirror as soon as possible. Even according to Russian signs, a broken mirror brings misfortune. If your mirror is cracked or, God forbid, is broken, immediately take it out of the house and buy a new one.

We have already said that the ba-gua mirror – a special octagonal mirror with images of trigrams along the outer rim – can be used only outside the house. With it, you can reflect the negative energy emanating from the intersection of roads, corners of buildings, etc. Do not forget to trace where you are redirecting energy: do not harm neighbors, because it is unlikely to help you, rather the opposite.

4. Feng Shui – Using Crystals for correcting Bad Energies

Crystals are one of the main symbols of the earth element, so they should be located in the southwestern, northeastern and central parts of the rooms.

Usually transparent crystals of rock crystal are used, but you can put on a shelf a “brush” of crystals of amethyst or green garnet (uvarovit), that is, intergrowths of small crystals in the form in which they are found in nature. The crystals will improve the quality of natural light and scatter it, sending the favorable qi energy to all ends of the room.

A crystal suspended from a lace or chain in front of a window will draw more light and energy into the room. Such crystals are very suitable for dark or gloomy rooms. A faceted crystal, suspended in front of the living room window, on fine days will create a Yang rainbow, refracting and reflecting the sun’s rays. This will contribute to a good mood and promote vigorous activity. Such crystals are especially suitable for a living room or children’s room.
A crystal or glass ball placed in the southwestern corner of the living room will strengthen the relationship located in the northeast – it will stimulate the craving for knowledge and education, in the east – it will allow to successfully implement career plans.

5. Feng Shui – Using Pendants, bells and moving objects for correcting Bad Energies

Chinese hollow pendants (shamisen) and bells create air vibration, which has a stimulating and cleansing effect. They reduce negative energy levels and help resolve conflicts. You need to hang them in those places where they will periodically ring and create pleasant sound effects. The sound of the bells may vary depending on the shape, size and relative position of the pendants. Before you buy a set of pendants or bells, be sure to listen to how they sound, evaluate how pleasant this sound is to you.
In zones of influence of metal or water, that is, in the north, west and northwest, it is better to use metal pendants; in the east and southeast – wooden; in the northeast and southwest – ceramic.
According to Chinese tradition, sets of seven, eight or nine pendants sound best. Hollow tubes direct the flow of qi energy upward.

To slow down the fast flow of qi energy, pendants should be placed in its path. In addition, they can also be hung where the flow of qi changes direction. This will help smooth out sharp transitions. To create a favorable background, use protruding beams and overhanging ledges.

Moving structures, windmills, silk flags or pennants are used to improve the circulation of qi, do not allow energy to accumulate and stagnate in the corners of rooms. Watches also introduce an element of movement, but when choosing them, you need to be guided primarily by considerations of personal experience and common sense.

Moving objects can be placed where you would like to stimulate qi energy. For example, the movable structure in the northeast corner of the children’s bedroom will promote the circulation of energies associated with knowledge and education.

6. Feng Shui – Using Sound for correcting Bad Energies

Sounds can either calm you or annoy you. It depends on the nature of the sound as well as on the mood in the room. Additional sounds shift the balance towards Yang. Therefore, the radio included in the living room will enliven the room if it seems too gloomy. Conversely, in a study or in a comfortable bedroom, a loud sound is unfavorable, it can even be annoying. Adjust the sound level according to the purpose of the room and the needs of the residents. Here you can be guided only by common sense.

7. Feng Shui – Using Plants for correcting Bad Energies

Since plants are living things, they, like us, use the energy of qi. But at the same time, plants are a source of this energy, symbolizing life and refreshing the atmosphere in the house.
The plants must be taken care of, watering them on time so that they do not dry out, because then they will cease to be a source of qi. Flowering plants with their color will help you activate certain elements.

Plants can be used to stimulate qi in the corners of rooms and to revitalize a space that is not used. They perfectly smooth sharp corners and reduce the negative impact of the “secret arrows”, especially if pots with plants mask the corners of bookshelves or office furniture.

Sharp-leaf plants contain more yang and cause qi energy to move faster. Plants with rounded leaves more reflect the qualities of Yin.
All plants are associated with the element of the tree, so they should be placed: to reinforce the element of fire – in the southern parts of the rooms; to reinforce the earth element – in the center, in the southwest and in the northeast.

The best rooms for plants are the living room and dining room. Plants should be placed carefully in the kitchen and bedroom.

Cacti and other prickly plants should not be placed very close to people, especially in the southwest – in the area of human relationships. However, some authors advise placing them on the windowsill as a kind of “mental defense” against thieves.
Artificial plants and flowers are less effective, but they can still stimulate the movement of qi if you keep them clean and regularly dust off with a wet rag. Compositions of dry plants in principle do not affect the energy balance. If you have them, keep them in the least accessible places and change according to the season.

8. Feng Shui – Using Water for correcting Bad Energies

Elements of water can be used both inside and outside the house in the form of fountains, ponds, drinking fountains, aquariums. Arrange them in the north, east and southeast.
As we have said, water symbolizes money. If a goldfish lives in your aquarium – this is a sign of special luck. The number of fish should be odd, and it is better if one of them is black in order to absorb any negative energy. To ensure good luck in financial affairs, the aquarium should be located in the southeast corner of the room. The water in it should always be clean, saturated with oxygen and constantly moving. A stale water aquarium is unlikely to help your financial activities.

In the north of the living room you can put a decorative bowl with water, for example, in the form of a turtle. This will emphasize the smooth and unobstructed nature of your journey through life.
You can also stimulate the corresponding areas in the house with the help of paintings and photographs with the image of clean running water. It’s good to hang them to the left of the front door as a good luck wish.

9. Feng Shui – Using Symbols for correcting Bad Energies

Symbols are used for energy saturation of rooms, especially they are good in the living room. You can choose any character that suits you. For example, using a red rose you can create a romantic corner.

Always choose characters that have a special meaning for you. Do not use oriental symbols if these items do not fit into the interior or do not match your feelings. Also, remember that objects of a foreign culture can resonate with aspects of your personal experience.

Symbols should be placed in the place of the house or room that you want to activate. For example, a picture with a beautiful landscape in the northern corner of the room will give the impression of a successful career, and a vase of flowers in the northwest will strengthen marital relations.

There are symbols closely associated with the elements of Feng Shui. They should be placed only in specific places at home. For example, a bamboo symbolizing a tree should be used where it is necessary to emphasize the quality of this element, and a metal turtle will look good in the northern zone of the living room.

11. Feng Shui – Using Bamboo flutes for correcting Bad Energies

Bamboo flutes are a Chinese symbol that brings good luck and protects from evil. They can be used to dissipate the negative energy generated, for example, by ceiling beams. Hang a pair of bamboo flutes on the ceiling beam at an angle of 30 degrees so that the holes point down. If you tie the bamboo flutes with a red ribbon, this will bring additional luck.

12. Feng Shui – Using Pictures for correcting Bad Energies

Pictures are particularly powerful symbols. They should be selected only guided by personal taste. In accordance with the principles of Feng Shui, in the house they can occupy either a very noticeable position, or imperceptible at all.

If what is shown in the picture is associated with five elements or their symbols, then the picture should be placed in the place corresponding to this element. For example, the ideal place for a picture of a couple in love is the southwestern side, which is associated with family relationships. However, a picture of a lone traveler wandering along a deserted beach is unlikely to be appropriate there.

13. Feng Shui – Using Color for correcting Bad Energies

Color can be used to stimulate and support, or to weaken the effect of an element.

In addition, it must be remembered that in the East and in the West, colors evoke different associations. In the East, red is considered auspicious, bringing joy, especially on New Year’s Eve; white is associated with mourning; yellow is associated with longevity; blue symbolizes the sky, and green – growth and development. Think about how to relate these qualities in the paintings or symbols with which you decorate your home.
