Elm in Bach flower therapy

properties, benefits, uses

Elm( Ulmus Procera / English elm ), amajestic tree, up to 40 meters high, with a large trunk, but is often a delicate plant. It is part of the Ulmaceae family and is found in parks, gardens and woods, it blooms from the end of winter to mid-spring.

Its foliage is narrow and long, it has whitish-green flowers, they are in clusters and numerous, they open before the foliage opens. In the branches the strength is apparent, they are actually fragile. Indicated for those who feel crushed by insurmountable responsibilities , it is useful in case of stress .

Elm : Properties and benefits

Dr. Edward Bach found that Elm , who is part of the “Seven Helpers of Dr. Bach”, was the right transitory remedy for stress fatigue (not to be confused with Olive’s exhaustion ), guilt in people charged with responsibility, who lose confidence in themselves.

The Elms reach a point where “they never believe they can …”, normally in life they are skilled and resourceful, they act, they move, but these abilities can lead them to moments of acute fatigue that result in depression , with loss of interest in the outdoors.

There are often cases, even of excellent managers, in which until the previous day they performed all their duties in their life, such as family duties, etc. and the next day they froze, crushed by insurmountable responsibilities .

Therefore, these people manifest the feeling of inadequacy in taking on responsibilities, sometimes failing to grow. The first of the benefits that Elm brings is a higher threshold for tolerating psychophysical stress , a rapid energy improvement, with greater concentration and work capacity.

Therefore, the problems are faced with the right proportion and seen with force in order to overcome them, pondering and being aware of one’s limits. Ultimately, there is a recovery of self-confidence that brings out a virtue such as self- support , which translates into a kind of self-help.

  • Initial-inhibited emotions (before taking the flower):

Overload, weight of responsibility, sense of inadequacy with emotional overflow.

  •  Evolutionary-loose emotions (after taking the flower):

Restoring one’s personality in balance, bringing our mission back to a more harmonious and enthusiastic dimension, returning to the ability to do and to the security of oneself and one’s potential.

Elm : uses

Elm is indicated for those who are mentally active and enterprising, who postpone relaxation, often manifest acyclical frustration, due to the high pressure more psychic than physical, tend to be strong and winning personalities, they are heroes.

It is contraindicated for pregnant women, due to its extremely strong function of uterine activity and arterial hypertension .

Elm is also used for the care of our animal friends, in particular, in case of tartar and gingivitis in dogs , it helps to counteract the pain.

This remedy is precious for those who are perfectionists, who do not give up because it all depended on them, who are unable to face circumstances and too many responsibilities, for those who feel tired from excess stress .
